Hugo Che Piu Deza

Executive Director

Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM).

He also has postgraduate studies in Public Policy Design, Governance and Political Management, Ecosystem Approach, Change Processes in Biodiversity Management, and Introduction to Complex Systems Theory.

Member of the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) and the Latin American Network for Environmental Forest Law (RELADEFA).

Expert on climate change and forests with over 18 years of experience working in the public sector and civil society. Author of numerous publications and opinion articles.
